01 The academy
Where the method

If CrossFight has a home mat, this is it.
Bellator Eretum Academy was founded in Monterotondo by Alessandro Frezza — ex-athlete of the Carabinieri sports centre, former national judo squad, now on the Italian grappling and MMA national team. It is a full martial arts centre rather than a single-discipline club, and that is the point: judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, taekwondo and functional training all run out of the same room, taught by coaches who compete internationally.
The programme is built around BJJ and MMA as the meeting point of everything else. A judoka learns what happens after the throw; a jiu-jitsu player learns to deal with a strike; a striker learns why the clinch decides the fight. Beginners are not thrown into that on day one — they get a structured path in one art, then the doors between the disciplines open.
The academy is affiliated to the Italian federations FIJLKAM and FIGMMA and to CSEN, so grades and competition licences issued here are recognised nationally.

Weekly schedule
The mats are open Monday to Friday, 12:00 to 22:00. Kids classes run early evening, adults from 19:00.

Alessandro Frezza
Frezza came out of the hardest school Italian judo has: the Carabinieri sports centre and the national squad. When he stopped chasing only the gi, he did not swap sports — he added to them, moving into grappling and mixed martial arts and earning a place on the Italian national team in both.
That is the coaching he gives. Positions are taught with their history and their consequence: why the grip exists in judo, what it becomes in no-gi, how it survives when someone is punching. He runs a demanding room with an unfashionable amount of patience for beginners — the two are not a contradiction here.
